Management Tasks
By the end of 2020, connected devices are expected to reach 50 billion. As early as 2017, it's estimated that nearly 8 zettabytes of data will travel through the network. This amount of data processing, it is predicted, will have companies turning away from client-server and LAN systems and choosing systems with virtualization in servers, storage, and networking.
As managers in this process, changes of this magnitude will require gathering detailed information about the company and its network.
Managers will be required to provide user requirements, existing designs, equipment configurations, circuit consumption, and concerns about budget and system support. Managers will also have to factor in that there will likely be a demand for faster network connectivity.
Overall, managers will need to have a clear picture of the organization's entire Wireless Lifecyle from planning and deployment to ongoing network troubleshooting and dedicated security monitoring, combating all wireless network security issues you face. Such a LifeCycle could look like this:
The next step in the Strategic Plan process is to provide a thorough Needs Analysis.
